SENSEI ANTHONY RUMMERY

Sensei Anthony is the principal instructor of New England Martial Arts Academy. He started his martial training from the age of 9, starting Taekwondo in Uralla. He has been in and out of the martial arts industry for over 30 years. During that time, he also developed an interest in weight training, specialising in strength training. During his high school years, he consistently placed first in his divisions in bench press competitions with other local schools and studied Goju Kai Karate. 

After relocating to Sydney in 2000, Sensei Anthony studied Jow Ga Jung Fu and GKR while working in the hospitality and security industry, working in some of the busiest clubs in Sydney and surrounding suburbs. 

Sensei Anthony returned to Armidale in 2006, and earned degrees in Asian languages and education. He became a father to 3 kids between 2011 to 2016.

Sensei Anthony started training in Ken Sei Shoto Ryu through enrolling his kids in Armidale in 2021, and continued his training through the COVID era. He became an instructor as a Brown Belt in Guyra on 5 July 2022, and started instructing in Armidale in February 2023. Since that time, he earned his Certificate 3 in Fitness, and his Black Belt in 2024.
