FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Not sure about something? Have a look below, and if you still have questions, Contact Us
Do I have to be fit to train?
Absolutely not! We all have to start somewhere, and the bravest thing you can do is reach out and step inside the dojo for the first time. People train with us for all kinds of reasons, but they all have one thing in common: improvement.

We do, however, want to make sure that you train in safety and ensure your training does more harm to you than good. This is why we ask about your medical information early.
Am I too old to train?
Absolutely not! Our veteran students are in their 50s and 60s and train for a variety of reasons: mental stimulation, flexibility, strength, and socialising with others among other things.
I have a disability. Can I train?
Absolutely! Our academies are fully inclusive, placing focus on what you CAN do, rather than what you can't. We can work with you to do a functional pre-assessment, and can adjust the dojo to meet you particular needs. Our dojo is also wheelchair-accessible for your convenience.
Why are you so expensive, and are there discounts?
When you train with us, you train with highly qualified specialists. Each instructor is not just a sport coach, you get: a teacher, a trainer, a mentor, a scientist, a counsellor, and a life coach.

Each instructor has at least a Cert 4 industry qualification or higher combined with industry, teaching, and management experience, demonstrating a commitment to quality instruction and growth for you or your young person.

We do, however, realise that everyone's situations are different. Discounts may be available for people on some Centrelink payments, as well as for families. Contact us to learn more.
Is Karate effective compared to other styles?
People train in Karate for many reasons. For people interested in tournament and competition fighting, there are a number of current and former MMA fighters and kickboxers who incorporate Karate into their fight strategies - the difference is in the competition rules.

What you put into your Karate is what you get out of it, so it's only as effective as the commitment and discipline you give to your training.
I don't want my child to become a bully or be bullied. How do you stop this from happening?
We don't want to train bullies either! We work with parents to teach the same values as you would in the home: respect, gratitude, discipline, humility, emotional regulation, and consequences for actions.

At the same time, we also teach how not become the victim of bullying: building and asserting boundaries, self-confidence, self-respect, and de-escalation strategies without diminishing the young person.

This isn't just important for young people. Whether it's in the workplace, in the home, or in social situations, these strategies are just as critical for adults in their daily lives.
